An Asian legend tells of a giant school made up of thousands of koi fish swimming up the Yellow River. As they swam, they gained strength by pushing against the current until they reached a waterfall. Once they reached that waterfall, many fish turned back in defeat, but the ambitious ones remained, determined to reach the top.

After a hundred years of jumping, one determined koi finally reached the top of the waterfall. The Gods recognized the koi for its perseverance and determination and turned the koi into a golden dragon, the image of power and strength.

Through the legend, the Koi fish have become symbolic of  great determination, dedication, perseverance, prosperity, and the fulfillment of destiny.
